Chocolate Avocado Mousse

This Chocolate Avocado Mousse is the perfect sweet treat for Valentine’s Day. It's even kid approved! Full of rich chocolate flavor and velvety texture, this is sure to be a quick and easy dessert or snack. The mousse is packed with nutrients, check out the awesome nutrition stats below.






Nutrition Profile:

  • Avocado: A great source of healthy fats and fiber. They are full of nutrients often lacking in our daily diet such as vitamin C, vitamin E, magnesium, vitamin B6 and folate.

  • Maple Syrup: A sweetener rich in antioxidants, manganese and zinc. These nutrients make maple syrup a good substitute for refined sugar.

  • Unsweetened Cocoa Powder: Cocoa powder is rich in polyphenols. These nutrients can reduce inflammation and improve cholesterol levels.

  • Almond Milk: A great source of vitamins A, D, and E as well as calcium.

  • Pink Himalayan Salt: A minimally processed salt providing a natural alternative to table salt.



Chocolate Avocado Mousse

{Dairy free, refined sugar free}

Ingredients:

2 Ripe Avocados, small or medium

4 tbsp Unsweetened Cocoa Powder

4 tbsp Pure Maple Syrup

½ Cup Almond Milk

2 tsp Vanilla Extract

1/4 tsp Fine, Pink Himalayan Salt

Optional Toppings:

Fresh Raspberries

Dark Chocolate

Instructions:

  1. Scoop the avocados into a blender or food processor, discarding the pits and skin.

  2. Add unsweetened cocoa powder, maple syrup, almond milk, vanilla extract, and pink himalayan salt to the blender. Blend until the mixture is smooth.

  3. Transfer mousse to an airtight container and cover.

  4. Chill at least 30 minutes before serving.

  5. Divide the mousse between 4 serving bowls.

  6. Top with raspberries and dark chocolate. Feel free to add an extra pinch of sea salt or drizzle of maple syrup too.

  7. Enjoy!
